Tucked between land and water, the marshes at Salt Pond hold a quieter kind of presence, shaped by wind, tide, and the small, repeated movements of wildlife over time. Paths appear almost without notice, worn gently into the landscape.
This photograph was made on an October morning, following one of those trails to the water’s edge. The reeds moved softly in the wind, the surface of the pond was still, and everything felt held in balance.
For those drawn to the quieter edges of the Cape, it is a way of keeping that sense of solitude close.
